LIVINGSTON, NJ — The cumulative total of COVID-19 cases in Livingston surpassed 600 this week, reaching 610 cases on Friday, according to the Livingston Health Department. The township also lost its first resident to the novel coronavirus since Sept. 1, bringing the total number of local deaths to 73.

According to the Livingston Health Department’s updated COVID-19 statistics, the township has recorded 61 new cases since Oct. 1.

Essex County had 194 new positive test results reported on Friday for a cumulative total of 23,253 cases, 1,909 deaths and 157 probable deaths.

Statewide, the New Jersey Department of Health received 1,139 new COVID-19 cases and 11 deaths on Friday, pushing the cumulative totals to 225,430 cases and 14,484 lives lost in New Jersey.
