PINE BROOK, NJ, - Sharon Kornstein, owner of the award winning Image Design, LLC, a full service style and image consultation company, says learning and practicing public speaking and leadership skills at the Livingston Speakeasy Toastmasters Club has greatly enhanced her business success.   Sharon, who presents programs to corporations, colleges and nonprofit groups on professional dress, etiquette and non-verbal communication, joined the Speakeasy Club, based at CIT headquarters, two years ago in order to become a more polished and effective speaker.

“I speak to Chief Executive Officers, as well as to college grads going on their first job interviews,” says Sharon. "In order to help my clients put their best foot forward, I realized I needed to learn to speak with poise and confidence. My goal was to learn to think more quickly on my feet, to tailor my presentations to my audience, and to figure out a way to incorporate humor into my talks. Joining Toastmasters has allowed me to greatly improve my confidence, and my business has grown by leaps and bounds.”   Speakeasy Toastmasters Club is open to the public and meets the first and third Thursday of every month from 12:30 to 1:30 at CIT headquarters. All are welcome.

Let the Games Begin

I am truly awed by the Olympics.  Watching these superb young athletes on TV inspires me to renew my membership to the gym and pursue my lifelong dream of taking home the gold.

The problem is that in my deluded head, I can see actually see myself standing atop the podium.  I am wrapped in a puffy designer ski coat with a huge piece of bling slung around my neck ...

In the Driver's Seat

Honey, I am going to take the Roadster out for a quick spin around the sun. I’ll be back in a few million years.

That’s nice dear. While you are out, could you pick up a gallon of milk?
