Livingston Weekly Court News, July 1 – July 7


LIVINGSTON, NJ - The Livingston Municipal Court settled three cases for the week of July 1 through July 7.

Aries Bluestone-Weaver of Morris Planes was charged with violating Livingston’s skate park regulations for not wearing a helmet, using the facilities without registration, creating a disturbance by cursing at a police officer, and with eluding a police officer.

The charge of eluding an officer was dismissed as part of plea agreement. For each of the remaining two charges Bluestone-Weaver received fines of $150 and 33$ in court cost fees.

Jonah Williams of Newark was charged with theft for attempting to steal $144 from Men’s Mart at the Livingston Mall and with impersonating a law enforcement officer, specifically by pretending to be an officer in an attempt to inhibit store employees from attempting to stop his theft.

After successfully fleeing the store, Williams was apprehended by police officials in his car where he received several motor vehicle charges, including, being an unlicensed driver, failure to exhibit an insurance card, failure to have insurance on a motor vehicle and not wearing a seatbelt.  All motor vehicle charges were dismissed, save for the charge of being an unlicensed driver, for which he received a $206 fine and $33 in court cost fees.

The charge of theft was amended to a charge of disorderly conduct for which Williams was sentenced to pay a $500 fine, $33 court cost, $50 to the Victim of Crime Compensation Fund and $75 to the Safe Neighborhood Fund. The charge of impersonating a law enforcement officer was dismissed as part of a plea agreement.

Lastly, four Livingston minors were charged with possession or consumption of alcoholic beverages.

Each youth was fined $50 and $33 in court cost fees.
