LIVINGSTON, NJ — Livingston High School winter track senior captain Eric Schneider has been named Dr. Michael Rieber’s Livingston Athlete of the Week for excelling in his final season as a Lancer.
With an impressive time of 7.88 in the 55-meter hurdles, Schneider recently qualified for the Eastern States Championships to be held on Feb. 28. This past weekend, he also qualified and participated in three events in the Group 4 meet, including the 55-meter hurdles, the 400-meter dash and the 4-x-400-meter relay.
“Eric has excelled this season, his last as a Lancer, showing significant improvement in all of his times in his events since last year,” said track coach Nancy Petryna. “The senior captain can be found on the track not only practicing his craft, but tutoring underclassman in the hurdles and cheering others in their workouts and races.”
In addition, Schneider has also set two new Livingston High School records, including the indoor 400-meter dash with a time of 52.34 as well as a time of 3:43.70 as a member of the indoor sprint medley relay team.
Some of Schneider’s accolades this season also include:
