LIVINGSTON, NJ – The Livingston Township Christmas tree collection/recycling program will begin on Jan. 5, and will end on Jan. 30. Beginning on January 5, residents should simply leave their undecorated trees out at the curb. Township trucks will collect trees on weekdays, Monday to Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. For more information, click HERE.

Last year, the Department of Public Works (DPW) collected and recycled over 1173 Christmas trees. The Christmas tree collection program saves the cost of garbage disposal since the Township is charged by weight to remove bulk items.

In addition, in conjunction with the DPW, the Township has added another environmentally friendly program for Livingston. DPW employees will chip the trees into mulch, which can be used around flower beds and garden borders. If enough mulch is created, it will be made available to residents for pick-up, at no cost.
