Local Social Worker Launches New Program for Moms

Psychotherapy is too expensive and time consuming for busy moms, although this group is also the one who would benefit most from having some additional support.  To address this need Livingston resident, Jennifer Bronsnick, LCSW who is a clinical social worker and health coach, created a 60 day program to teach and empower moms to live healthier and happier lives.

The Sexy Mommy Life Course not only gives mothers tips on dealing with stress and healthy eating, it also incorporates simple cognitive behavioral therapeutic techniques so that they can start changing how they think and therefore how they feel.  The program is run through Mindful Mommy whose mission is to support mother's to lead happy, healthy, fun-filled lives by offering a space for self-exploration, education, and meaningful connections with other mom's.

"Mindful Mommy is all about finding the balance between being compassionate and non-judgmental, while at the same time bringing awareness to those things that you want to improve about yourself. There is no such thing as a perfect mother but I believe we should aim to be best we can by learning new ideas and taking care of ourselves physically, emotionally, and spiritually. We can't expect to be good at taking care of others if we are never taking care of ourselves."

Let the Games Begin

I am truly awed by the Olympics.  Watching these superb young athletes on TV inspires me to renew my membership to the gym and pursue my lifelong dream of taking home the gold.

The problem is that in my deluded head, I can see actually see myself standing atop the podium.  I am wrapped in a puffy designer ski coat with a huge piece of bling slung around my neck ...
