LIVINGSTON, NJ — Two members of the Livingston High School boys soccer team, sophomore Zachary Feldman and senior Kyle Loventhal, were recently selected to the Super Essex Conference (SEC) All-American Division First Team.
Feldman and Loventhal each finished the fall 2020 season with three goals, but their value on defense was immeasurable, according to Livingston head coach Roger Rubinetti.
"Before the state tournament started, (our team) had given up the least amount of goals in the state," said Rubinetti, whose team finished with a 9-2-2 record. "Just two goals got by our back line, which (included) Kyle Loventhal and Zachary Feldman."
Senior goalie Ben Pawlak, another key to the Lancers' ability to maintain a clean sheet, was named to the All-American Division second team. Senior Grant Shevrin also secured a spot on second team after notching five goals and three assists in 2020.
Livingston seniors Holden Miller—the team's assist leader with six for the season—and defender Zachary Lang each received honorable mention in the American Division.
"The season was a great success," Rubinetti said. "The team battled hard in every game and won so many tightly contested one-goal games; for the seniors and their teammates it was a special season in a special year."
