MILLBURN, NJ — In a statement provided to TAPinto Millburn/Short Hills by the Millburn Police Department, a pair of arrests have been announced in connection with the false bomb threat that closed down the Short Hills Mall late last week.

Stephanie Abreu, 31, and William Baldwin, 30, both from Maplewood, were charged by police with making bomb threats, as well as conspiracy and false public alarm. Both Abreu and Baldwin were remanded to the Essex County Correctional facility, according to police.

The initial response to the bomb threat occurred at 11:38 a.m. on Feb. 20, according to the statement. Along with units from the Millburn Police Department, New Jersey State Police officers and members of the Essex County Sheriff's Department, Bomb Unit were on scene for the response.

The Neiman Marcus store at the mall was closed down as police searched with K9 units. It was eventually determined that the threat was not credible, and the mall returned to regular operation shortly thereafter.
