MILLBURN, NJ – Dozens of new and returning Millburn/Short Hills campers and parents gathered at the La Strada restaurant in downtown Millburn on Tuesday evening in anticipation of the coming summer. Dan Millman and George Stein, owners of Meadowbrook Country Day Camp hosted the event to bring Millburn Township families together to share experiences and enjoy endless trays of pizza at Millburn’s popular pizzeria.
There were no PowerPoint presentations, sales pitches or handouts. Just a lot of hungry kids rekindling friendships and making new ones. The primary purpose of the event was to bring the Millburn/Short Hills Meadowbrook family together.
Meadowbrook Country Day Camp is located approximately 37 miles from Millburn in Long Valley, NJ. They provide an all-day summer camp for children ranging from Pre-K to 9th grade with activities that include all type of sports, team-building games and zip lining. Swimming, a large part of the Meadowbrook experience, is provided by a 9,000 square foot pool complex that includes three heated pools. Boating on their private lake features kayaks, canoes and fishing. They also provide door-to-door transportation for every camper with each bus chaperoned by a professional counselor and collaborative activities during the ride.
“Meadowbrook is the gold standard of camps in New Jersey”, said a Millburn parent. “Once my kids experienced Meadowbrook, they won’t to go anywhere else.”
More than just activities to keep kids entertained throughout the summer, Meadowbrook prides itself on character development, team and confidence building, with activities structured by a regiment that encourages collaboration, independence and esprit de corps. An integral part of that includes healthy and varied meal options that include an all-day salad bar, daily fresh fruit and snacks.
“My son came home from Meadowbrook everyday smelly, sweaty and tired”, a Short Hills parent commented. “Absolutely perfect!”
