Multiple Vehicles Reported Stolen in Livingston; One Recovered Prior to Being Shipped Overseas

LIVINGSTON, NJ — Livingston Police announced on Tuesday, Aug. 23 that a vehicle stolen from Sykes Ave. on July 25 has been recovered by New Jersey State Police at the Elizabeth Seaport in a container, preparing to be shipped overseas.

Since Aug. 18, the Livingston Police Department has reported multiple stolen vehicles and vehicle break-ins in Livingston and also recovered a vehicle stolen from Newark:

Sometime between 12:15 a.m. to 10 a.m. on Aug. 18, some unknown person(s) entered an unlocked vehicle in the driveway of 214 Beaufort Ave. and found the key fob to a 2012 Cadillac SRX, which was then stolen from the same home, according to police.

The same night, an Audi S25 parked at 16 Rainbow Ridge Rd. was broken into, but police said they were unable to identify whether the vehicle was unlocked.

At approximately 3:22 a.m. on Monday, a Livingston patrol officer came across a Dodge Caravan parked at 10 Brown Court. When the officer ran the license plate, the computer confirmed that the vehicle had been reported stolen out of Newark at approximately 1:48 a.m. the same morning.

According to police, there were items belonging to 6 Westminster Dr. on the ground near the car. Subsequent to investigation at the Westminster residence, police found that an unlocked vehicle in that driveway was also broken into.

Later that morning, police received a call from the residents of 7 Brown Ct. reporting that two vehicles had been stolen from their home—one out of the driveway and one from the garage. According to police, an 2014 Audi A4 that was parked in the driveway also had a key fob belonging to the car in the driveway, which was a 2015 BMW 535.

According to police, this is been a common occurrence in Livingston, usually involving vehicles unlocked in residents’ driveways. In the week prior to the above reports, seven vehicles were broken into during the early hours of Aug. 13 in Livingston. Click HERE for story.

Extra Time

It was close to 70 minutes into the match and I had to go to the bathroom.  Badly.

As fans watching the World Cup know too well, bathroom breaks are a serious dilemma, especially for those who don’t have a TV in the loo.  This biological necessity is exasperated by beer, which during World Cup matches also fuels a strong propensity to throw chairs and instigate riots.
