ESSEX COUNTY AREA, NJ - The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for late season snowfall today, March 20, for Essex County, other NJ areas and some of NY. It is in effect until 2:00 a.m., EST, Saturday.
Accumulations of three to six inches of snow, along with ice, are expected. Snow is expected to start mid- to late-morning and continue through the evening.
Hazardous travel conditions, due to reduced visibilities and slippery roads, are expected.
A winter weather advisory means that periods of snow, sleet, or freezing rain will cause travel difficulties. The public should be prepared for slippery roads and limited visibilities. Drivers are urged to and use caution while driving.
