LIVINGSTON, NJ — Following Monday’s meeting of the Livingston Township Council, newly appointed Township Manager Greg Bonin announced his resignation, effective immediately.
According to Livingston Mayor Shawn Klein, Bonin apologized in his letter of resignation, stating that he felt that he would be unable to commit his heart and soul to the level he felt the township deserves.
Klein added that the township and members of the council worked hard to bring in a new candidate and vowed that they will do so again.
“The town is lucky to have Russ Jones, our previous and reappointed acting town manager,” said Klein. “He has been an integral part of our township for 45 years and Livingston will be in his capable hands as we renew our search for a new manager. Under Russ, we have our fantastic department heads and their staff who run the day-to-day happenings of Livingston.”
Klein concluded that the township will “continue to grow and flourish without interruption of the services that [Livingston] residents expect and enjoy.”
