LIVINGSTON, NJ - On Thursday, April 24, The Friends of the Livingston Library is holding its 5th Annual Spring Benefit, “A Taste of the World.” The public is invited to attend.
Guests will “travel the world” in various ways. The event will feature an assortment of food celebrating international flavors, dozens of wines from around the world and a selection of craft beers. Wine experts will provide tastings, be available to answer questions, and take sales orders.
Throughout the evening, attendees will be able to participate in the silent auction and merchandise raffles. Auction items will vary from things designed to pamper oneself at home, get away for an evening's entertainment, or perhaps even travel to a vacation destination. There will also be a 50/50 Cash Raffle in which tickets may be purchased independent of the Spring Benefit. The winner does not need to be present on April 24 when the winner is announced at the Spring Benefit.
Net proceeds of the event will fund the Friends' work at Livingston Library. The Friends of the Livingston supports the Library’s youth programming and is the sponsor for the Children’s and Teens’ Summer Reading Program, which registers over 900 youths each year.
In addition, The Friends of the Livingston Library sponsors several series including: Music Matters, Think Theatre, Literary Liaisons, and Lifelong Learning Lectures, designed for all ages. The Friends of the Livingston Library also provides funding for other services like the Museum Pass Program and the E-Reader Experience that are not covered by the Library’s budget from the Township. Through its support of Library programs and supplemental support of Library collections, The Friends of the Livingston Library helps the adults and children of the community continually discover new worlds.
