LIVINGSTON, NJ All over town, tails are wagging in anticipation of Regal Bank’s Seventh Annual Livingston Dog Pawrade to be held on Sept. 27 from 11 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. The community event and fundraiser, which benefits the Mt. Pleasant Animal Shelter, is being staged in the parking lot of Regal Bank, located at 570 West Mt. Pleasant Avenue in Livingston.

Regal Bank’s Dog Pawrade is an event filled with family-oriented entertainment, contests, antics and fun. Friendly, well-socialized dogs are welcome to participate in the Pawrade and compete for prizes that recognize the biggest dog, smallest dog and best doggie costume.

Attendees will also enjoy displays from local merchants, raffles and a shopping venue of products and services for pets and their families. The highlight of the Dog Pawrade will be the Dog Rescue Zone, where families looking to adopt can meet some of the pets currently available for adoption at the Mt. Pleasant Animal Shelter.

“Our organization is completely funded by donations, which means we rely on public support to provide food, shelter and medical care to the homeless and neglected animals in our care,” said Rebecca Pollak, community relations coordinator for Mt. Pleasant Animal Shelter. “We are so grateful to Regal Bank and all of the Pawrade participants for helping us give deserving animals a new ‘leash’ on life.”

The Livingston Dog Pawrade is being organized and led by Christina Slater, vice president and regional manager for Regal Bank. A devoted dog-lover herself, Slater created the Dog Pawrade to raise much-needed proceeds for the Mt. Pleasant Animal Shelter, which saves more than 1000 lives each year.

“Since its inception, the Livingston Dog Pawrade has generated more than $10,000 to help homeless animals in need,” said Slater. “I invite all local dog owners to come out to this year’s Dog Pawrade to have some fun with their pets and make a real difference for all the animals that are still waiting to find their permanent homes.”

Those interested in participating in the Dog Pawrade can pre-register at any Regal Bank branch location. The cost to pre-register is $10 and any additional dogs in the family can be registered for $1 each. Those unable to pre-register can do so on the day of the event for $15. For more information, call 973-577-7161 or 973-577-7160.

A Royal Pain

I went to a big wedding over the weekend.  It was in England.

I like to think I was invited, but according to the Royal Guards and the Thames Valley Police I was not.  But more about that later.

You see, not too long ago I received an evite addressed to me from H&M@royalwedbot.co.uk.  Curiously, it was in my spam folder with a warning message. For an evite it was pretty ...
