School Bus Strikes Telephone Pole in Livingston Thursday Morning

LIVINGSTON, NJ — A school bus that was picking up Newark Academy students on Thursday morning struck a telephone pole in the area of 25 Westmount Drive, causing live wires to fall and a nearby transformer to begin leaking fluids, according to police.

Police stated that no children were injured in the crash, and that the driver complained of pain but was not transported to a medical center. The driver was reported to be traveling toward E. Cedar Street and lost control of the vehicle when an unknown item fell, causing him to crash into the pole. 

According to police, the driver was issued a careless driver summons.
