LIVINGSTON, NJ – Sally Glick, Vice President of Marketing at Livingston based accounting firm Sobel & Co., has recently announced that as a board member of the Visiting Nurse Association of Northern New Jersey (VNANNJ) she has agreed to co-chair this year’s fourth annual Celebration of Life Holiday Event.

“The opportunity to support the Visiting Nurses of Northern New Jersey and at the same time participate in a festive free lighting and a delicious wine tasting program led by sensory expert Gail Civille is the best of both worlds,” said Glick. “The fundraiser is much needed and the program is wonderful for everyone as a great way to kick off the holiday season.”

This annual celebration is a free event that will honor and remember loved ones that have passed away and will include a tree lighting ceremony with live entertainment and refreshments followed by a wine tasting and reception.

Keynote speaker Kate S. Tomlinson, Publisher of New Jersey Monthly will speak at the tree lighting and Gail Vance Civille, President of Sensory Spectrum will give a presentation on how the senses interact with different types of wine.

"Proceeds from the event will provide critical funds for VNA programs and services, which include hospice, respite care, adult daycare services, nursing and rehabilitative therapies for those in need, regardless of their ability to pay,” explained Eileen Scott.

Tickets are currently being sold for $50 per person in advance and for $60 at the door.  For event date, time and location details see attached flyer.

The Visiting Nurse Association of Northern New Jersey (VNANNJ) is a non-profit home health care agency providing compassionate and comprehensive in-home nursing, therapies, social work, and home health aide services throughout Morris County and neighboring communities.  The VNA is funded through Medicaid and hospice but as a non-profit also needs to raise additional funds to cover operating costs and conduct ongoing trainings.

The VNA's home care program encompasses a full range of services that include: Skilled nursing, Rehabilitation therapies (physical, occupational & speech), Personal care services / Live-Ins, Elder Care Services, Hospice and Palliative Care, Social Services/Counseling and Adult Day Care through Friendship House.

Extra Time

It was close to 70 minutes into the match and I had to go to the bathroom.  Badly.

As fans watching the World Cup know too well, bathroom breaks are a serious dilemma, especially for those who don’t have a TV in the loo.  This biological necessity is exasperated by beer, which during World Cup matches also fuels a strong propensity to throw chairs and instigate riots.
