And right now, camps are starting hold open houses and collect registrations. To ensure that camp slots don’t close up before one’s child can sign up, below is some information on upcoming open houses and camp fairs.

Meadowbrook is an American Camp Association (ACA) accredited day camp, which is located on a 50-acre park-like setting in Long Valley, just outside of Chester. Meadowbrook’s traditional day camp programs are for children ages three-14. The camp provides door-to-door transportation on air-conditioned mini-buses to Morris County and parts of Essex, Union, Sussex, Warren, Hunterdon, Middlesex, and Somerset counties. The camp also offers extended hours from 7:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. One thing that is unique to Meadowbrook is that all tips are included in tuition, so there are no extra costs later on. And, Meadowbrook provides lunch each day for campers.

In addition, Meadowbrook offers a wide selection of athletics, creative arts, nature, and special events as well as climbing wall and high and low ropes courses complete with a 30-foot tall zip line. Swim instruction is offered every morning and general/free swim every afternoon in a 9,000 square-foot pool complex featuring three heated pools.

“This is a great way to get an introduction to Meadowbrook and for you and your children to tour camp,” said owner Jed Buck. “Come see our beautiful 50-acre facility and learn about our exciting program. Meet our on-site Owners/Directors and Large Leadership Team and bring friends.”

According to former Livingston High School grad, Roz Buck, who owns the camp with her husband Jed, “Now is the best time to begin thinking about your children’s plans for next summer. If you are considering day camp options for this summer, visiting camp now, before snow hits the ground, is a great way to see the Meadowbrook fun and excitement ‘in action’ and is a great way to do your camp research.”

“Meadowbrook’s goal is to create the best possible camp environment in which children can thrive,” added Jed. “Meadowbrook is a place where children have the opportunity to try new activities, take on new challenges, increase their self-esteem and grow in a safe, nurturing, fun environment. This is accomplished through a dynamic and creative program organized by a warm and caring professional staff.”
