LIVINGSTON, NJ — In the days leading up to the first day of school, TAPinto Livingston office staff took a field trip around town to see what interesting “Back-to-School” items could be found right here in Livingston.
First, a walk through the Livingston Mall proved to be a hot spot for back to school.
“A Dollar,” popular for its variety of products all under $2, had two full walls of school supplies, stacked with cartoon-decorated Tupperware containers for lunch; Paper Mate products including a glass cup filled with 12 writing utensils for only $1.99; and cartoon-decorated eyeglass cases.
Barnes & Noble, in addition to its plethora of best sellers for students, is selling “Mom” planners and “student” planners for $14.99 and $10.99, respectively; inspirational desk décor with "color outside the lines" books for $14.95; a special desk lamp to “fight seasonal effective disorder” for $39.95; school accessory and supply cases that can zip and unzip to any size, priced between $4.99-9.99; a micro office tool box including a highlighter, scissors, staples and tape for $10.95; and a mini pink stationary set for school supplies on the go, priced at $5.95.
Also, at Old Navy, TAP staff discovered a Fashionable Insulated Lunchbox for $12.
Deeper into Livingston, at Love Letters in Livingston, located at 2 W. Northfield Ave., TAP discovered a “My Busy Life” desk set for $18.95; locker shelves for $6; locker mirrors for $6; “Emoji” lip balm for $5; and earphone wrist band for $20; inspirational mantra bracelets for $25 each; a blink wrist band watch $7; and phone holders for $20, pictured below.
TAPintoLivingston.net co-owner Jessica Parkes’ personal favorite was an array of “girls only” college apparel for approximately $40 each at Infinity, located at 21 E. Northfield Rd., complete with a "this is my game day shirt" T-shirt to get ready for football.
