Friday, Dec. 9, has been designated New Member Shabbat at Congregation B’nai Jeshurun in Short Hills.  During the service, which begins at 5:30 p.m., members new to the temple will be honored.

At the conclusion of the service, members new and long-standing come together for a traditional Shabbat meal. An important part of this annual event is the music and Israeli dancing that gets everyone clapping and moving their feet.  The co-chairs of the dinner are Holly Simons and Laurie Goldberg, both of Short Hills.  The cost of the dinner is $15/adult and $5/child.  For dinner information, contact newmembershabbat@tbj.org.
