On Wednesday, April 8, Temple B'nai Abraham will participate in a once in every-twenty-eight year celebration of renewal: Bircat HaChamah: The Blessing of the Sun led by Rabbi Clifford Kulwin and Cantor Jessica Epstein at the Eagle Rock Reservation (near the 9/11 Memorial) in West Orange at 6:20 a.m.

Every twenty-eight years, Jewish tradition sanctifies the moment that the sun is in the exact same position as it was on the fourth day of the creation of the world. Bircat HaChamah is a powerful moment of thanksgiving for and reflection upon the wonders of God's world.

We will conduct a brief service, followed by a "tailgate" of coffee and donuts. If cloudy, we will still hold the ceremony. In case of rain, the ceremony will be cancelled.
