The Gallery at Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices, New Jersey Properties is hosting the exibit for RM Cimini, who is known for her dynamic and colorful abstract paintings. Cimini's expressive paintings, alongside her series of cloud paintings, will show in an art exhibit in the alternative gallery space at 79 S. Livingston Ave. in Livingston from Dec. 3 to Feb. 11.

Cimini, a Caldwell resident, has been an artist in Caldwell and in New York City for more than 30 years. She is a member of Studio Montclair, for which she serves as membership coordinator.

“I am very pleased to be chosen by Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices for this show. I appreciate the opportunity to exhibit in this beautiful space,” said Cimini.

A painter who works without any preconceived notions of the resulting image, Cimini said she is fascinated by the creative process, where each stroke of color sets the stage for those that follow until an unexpected and complete image emerges.

Creating luminous paintings that rely on the interaction of color and shifting planes for their drama, her work draws upon observation and contemplation. Cimini works to capture the subtle variations of reflected light, color and texture found in the world that surrounds us.

Her work begins from a specific source, usually an impulse, energy, or excitement generated by a particular thought or experience. Although her works may begin with reference to natural objects, they are not about trees or water or sky, but rather about using color, light, form and paint to communicate the physical, emotional and spiritual aspects of the human experience.

Cimini received an MFA in painting and sculpture from Bennington College. She has also experienced numerous solo exhibits in galleries and universities throughout the United States, and has works in private collections throughout the world.

A portion of the profits from sales at this show will be donated to The Sunshine Kids, www.sunshinekids.org, Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices’ adopted charity that provides emotional support and fun activities for children with cancer.
