The Livingston Advisory Committee for Disabilities (LACD) is announcing its free “Kickball” Winter Sports Clinic scheduled for Sunday, February 13 from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m.
The kickball clinic, located at the West Essex YMCA at 321 South Livingston Avenue, is especially created for children with disabilities. The event will be led by LACD co-chair Bob Gebroe and staffed by student and parent volunteers from the community, who will be cheering on the children.
Children are welcome to participate in the kickball clinic to learn or improve upon their game and skills in a supportive and encouraging atmosphere. The clinic is also a great opportunity for the children to practice their social skills in a natural setting. For more information, please call 973.970.4441.
The free LACD After School Sports Program is still in full swing on most Wednesdays at Monmouth Court from 3.30 to 4.30 p.m. Members of the community are invited to visit the LACD’s fun-filled weekly sporting event for the children, where they will learn a variety of sports, related skills and fitness activities.
In keeping with its mission – to improve the quality of lives with citizens with disabilities, their families and friends – LACD continues to strive to reach more of its community members who are in need of social and recreational services. If you know of anyone who could benefit from LACD’s free programs, please contact us at 973.970.4441. For more information, please visit our website at: www.livingstonnj.org/lacd.
