LIVINGSTON, NJ - To better reflect its position as a dynamic regional shopping destination within the Essex-Morris county submarket, The Village at Livingston will be rebranded and renamed “The Shoppes at the Livingston Circle.” Anchored by The Fresh Market, the 93,000-square-foot shopping center is owned and managed by Eastman Companies of Livingston.
The new name underscores the neighborhood shopping center’s exceptional location at the intersection of Route 10 and Eisenhower Parkway near the Livingston traffic circle, according to Peter Schofel, Eastman’s co-managing partner.
“The Village at Livingston has been a retail mainstay in Livingston for more than 20 years,” said Schofel. “The name change aligns with our goals to reposition the center and elevate the shopping and dining experience for our customers. In the coming months, shoppers can expect to see changes, such as an updated logo and new signage to reinforce the center’s new brand identity in the marketplace.”
Upscale specialty grocer, The Fresh Market, joined the shopping center’s retail mix last fall, occupying a 23,000-square-foot portion of the former Pathmark store. The Livingston Fresh Market represents the chain's third New Jersey location, following previous openings in Bedminster and Montvale.
“The addition of a high-quality grocer such as The Fresh Market has helped to generate additional consumer traffic, which has benefitted existing retailers and helped attract new tenants to the center,” said Schofel.
Natural pet products retailer Choice Pet Supply celebrated its grand opening at The Shoppes at the Livingston Circle last fall, while Ike’s Bagel Café and national chain Hand & Stone Massage and Facial Spa are slated to open later this spring. These new retailers join a lineup of shops, services and restaurants including Olive Garden, GameStop, Wine Legend, Hudson City Savings and Zen Japanese Cuisine.
According to an Eastman representative, located at the hub of one of the region’s busiest retail corridors, The Shoppes at the Livingston Circle is supported by outstanding regional demographics. The 16.1-acre property serves a growing residential population of more than 158,000 people within a five-mile radius. The marketplace offers an average household income of more than $141,000, and the daily traffic count exceeds 39,000 vehicles.
Headquartered in Livingston, N.J., Eastman Companies and its affiliated companies have been in business for 37 years and “are recognized leaders in high-quality real estate developments” with property throughout Northern New Jersey, according to an Eastman representative. The company boasts a portfolio of more than two million square feet of office, retail and industrial space located in Essex, Morris, Bergen and Burlington counties.
