WOODLAND PARK, NJ — A Fairfield man died on early Sunday morning following a head-on crash on Route 80 in Woodland Park, according to Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia Valdes. The victim was identified as Rocco Donatiello, 29, who died as a result of the injuries sustained in the crash, she said.

Donatiello and his family own Manhattan Bagel restaurants in both Fairfield and River Vale. 

Valdes reported that at approximately 4:38 a.m., state police responded to a head-on collision in which the driver of a Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT was driving in the the wrong direction on Route 80 east near the area of Exit 56A in Woodland Park.

The driver of the Cherokee, a 63-year-old Paterson man, was transported to St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center in Paterson for treatment.

The investigation, which is being conducted by the New Jersey State Police in conjunction with the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office, remains active and ongoing. More information will be released as it becomes available.
