Art Council Hosts Art Reception for Jan and Raime Press

The Arts Council of Livingston Cordially Invites You To Attend A Reception to Celebrate, Livingston Photographers Raime and Jan Press' Photography Exhibition Titled "Found Art".

This Exhibition, "Found Art" , is part of the large personal collection of images that Raime and Jan have amassed over their careers. These images are not the expected photographs that they create on a daily basis for their  Portrait/Wedding/Bar-Bat Mitzvah/Corporate Clients. But, rather these images offer a rare look if you will,  into their creative minds (what a scary thought). Although Raime and Jan have a similar "eye" for selection of subject matter, each photographer views and portrays these selected images in very unique and abstract ways.

As the Exhibition Title "Found Art" suggests, these Large Scale, color photographs, are created from normal everyday mundane objects. During our daily travels we may walk-over a crack, pass by a rust spot, jump over a puddle, take a quick glimpse at a reflection and just walk by. Raime and Jan see the color, the form, the texture, and the beauty in these natural or manmade objects. Through their eyes, by taking these images out of context, offer another vision and produce an "Object of Art" to be appreciated and enjoyed by all.

Thank you, Hope to see you all there.

Do You Know Amanda? She’s got Children’s Learning Concierge Services Down Pat

If you have a little one at home, chances are, you have to make an obscene amount of decisions on a daily basis.  Little ones…big ones….little ones that seem like big ones…and everything in between.  You probably even reserve some time in your week by now to pull a few strands of hair out in frustration while facing all these decisions that will affect your little ...

Some Like it Hot

“Oh boy!” exclaimed my husband. “There’s a hot sauce shop in town!”

We were away antiquing for the weekend in a quaint village populated by Bed and Breakfasts, art galleries, and apparently, a hot sauce shop. For my husband, this was like discovering that someone had bought you a lottery ticket and you won… if the lottery prize was a fireball that would ...

Going for Brass

I get all teary-eyed watching the Olympics on TV.  You  know, the human drama, the sacrifice, the dedication, the thrill of competition, the athletic lip sync murmur to the national anthem on the podium.

This year I discovered that there are many other Olympic champions besides the usual cadre of spring-wound gymnastic pixies and ferociously wedged, hairless swimmers ...
