“Back” to The Basics Series led by the TBA Clergy

Temple B’nai Abraham’s Congregational Learning this year focuses on The Basics of Jewish Life, with three special presentations on Theology, Worship and Holidays, led by Rabbi Clifford Kulwin, Cantor Jessica F. Epstein and Rabbi Faith Joy Dantowitz.  The details are too easy to get lost in. We must recognize — in fact, celebrate — the big picture, seeing the common thread that unites every aspect of Jewish life. Temple B’nai Abraham is located at 300 East Northfield Road, Livingston, entrance on East Cedar Street.

The series begins on Tuesday, January 9, 2018 7:30 PM, Rabbi Kulwin will lead a journey through the topic of Theology—what did our ancestors believe, what do we believe, and how is it all connected?  Continuing on Tuesday, February 6, 7:30 PM, Cantor Epstein will explore Worship—what is the purpose of Jewish Worship and how did it get to be what it is? Concluding on Tuesday, March 6, 7:30 PM, Rabbi Joy Dantowitz will lead a discussion on Holidays¾ what constitutes a Jewish Holiday and why—if they are—important?

Each class is a stand-alone unit, so that an inability to attend all (or even most) of the sessions will not be an impediment to an enjoyable and simulating learning experience. The Basics series is free and open to the community. Register online at www.tbanj.org or for information call 973-994-2290.

Extra Time

It was close to 70 minutes into the match and I had to go to the bathroom.  Badly.

As fans watching the World Cup know too well, bathroom breaks are a serious dilemma, especially for those who don’t have a TV in the loo.  This biological necessity is exasperated by beer, which during World Cup matches also fuels a strong propensity to throw chairs and instigate riots.
