Livingston Symphony Family Concert: The Composer's Toolbox

LIVINGSTON, NJ — Visit “The Composer’s Toolbox,” this year’s Livingston Symphony Orchestra Family Concert on Sunday, Jan. 21, at 2 p.m. at the Livingston High School Auditorium, 30 Robert Harp Drive, Livingston NJ.

Known for his easy rapport with audience members of all ages and joy in sharing the stories behind the music, Maestro Anthony LaGruth will lead the Livingston Symphony in a family program that features excerpts from Beethoven’s "Fifth Symphony," Tchaikovsky’s "Fourth Symphony" and Bizet’s "Carmen Suites."

Illustrated and highlighted throughout the concert will be elements such as melody, harmony, dynamics (volume), themes, individual instrument sound qualities and the other “tools” that composers use to build upon their musical ideas. At the end of this interactive experience, audience members are invited to partake in Tofutti-sponsored frozen desserts.

Tickets are available at the door, with children under 12 accompanied by an adult and students from 12-18 years with ID admitted free of charge. The venue is handicapped accessible with free, adjacent parking.
