Women's History Presentation - The Women of Camp Hewitt

Women’s contributions to the First World War are vastly undermined due to the push for women’s suffrage.  To understand the role the United States played in the War, one has to examine all facets, including that of women.  Historian Vivian Davis speaks about how local women played a role, focusing on the women’s paramilitary venture Camp Hewitt and discusses how their contributions paved the way to their own victory at the polls and beyond.

Vivian Davis has been in the museum field for over 10 years, working for the National Park Service in Manhattan and Van Cortlandt House Museum in The Bronx and is currently the Education Coordinator at The Bronx County Historical Society.  Graduating with a BA in American Studies and MA in American History.
