LIVINGSTON, NJ — Both indoor and outdoor activities will be available to the Livingston community and beyond on Thursday, May 9 for this year's Israel Independence Day event, a joint project between Livingston Township, the Livingston Committee for Diversity and Inclusion and the Jewish Federation of Greater Metrowest NJ.
The free community-wide festival will be held at Livingston Town Hall from 4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m., featuring a crafts and activities fair outdoors as well as an indoor concert. Kosher food will be available for purchase throughout the event.
Some of the scheduled activities include performances from several groups and individuals that are listed in the photos above, a visit from Jack’s Petting Farm and Turtle Back Zoo with live baby animals and more. An Israeli flag-raising ceremony will be held at 6 p.m. at the flag pole.
Parking will be available at Livingston Town Hall (357 S. Livingston Ave.), the West Essex YMCA (321 S. Livingston Ave.), Falcon Drive and the Livingston Oval. In the event of inclement weather, the event will be moved indoors to the Livingston Senior and Community Center (204 Hillside Avenue).
