LIVINGSTON, NJ — Private offices, a conference room and a collaborative co-working area featuring both full-and part-time desks are among the amenities now available to members at SkyDesk, which recently opened its doors in Livingston as part of the 70 South Orange Avenue complex.
Mendel Brafman, chief executive officer of Livingston’s SkyDesk, moved to Livingston after running an e-commerce company in Parsippany with its own branded audio line of speakers, headphones and other products. While renting spaces for that company, Brafman said he “wasn't happy with the complexity of the leases, confusing pricing, fees and outdated office buildouts with no sunlight.”
“With that in mind, I created a space I would've wanted: inspiring, collaborative, exciting, nice glass offices with natural light, plenty of free coffee,” he said.
According to Brafman, SkyDesk caters to freelancers, startups, small-business people that work from home or the city, remote workers, corporate companies and more. He also said the company handles just about everything for its tenants, offering fully furnished office space, 24/7 Internet access, parking, printer, coffee, water, tea, a kitchen, phone booth and mail service.
Also included in membership is garbage cleanup, utilities and use of the conference room, a full on-site café and the gym and shower. Thanks to an electronic key system, tenants have 24/7 access to the office as well.
“It's a nice, inviting and friendly place to focus and work or chat over coffee with another member,” said Brafman. “The price we provide is all-inclusive—no complicated pricing and no fees. We take care of everything so the members can come in and focus on their businesses.”
According to its website, SkyDesk creates a community culture that can improve the work-life balance for tenants while positively impacting their businesses. Desks and offices are rented out month-to-month so that tenants can pay as they go.
