LIVINGSTON, NJ — Kindergarten pre-registration for the 2021-2022 academic year at Livingston Public Schools (LPS) will open on Friday, Jan. 15, 2021. A child is eligible for kindergarten if he or she has reached the age of five years on or before Oct. 1, 2021.
Parents must complete the entire kindergarten registration process by May 15, 2021 in order to be notified of their child’s school placement by June 1, 2021. This includes families with older siblings already attending a school within the LPS district.
Remote appointments begin Monday, Feb. 1, 2021 and will continue through Saturday, May 15, 2021. Remote appointments will last 30 minutes and are available from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Only a parent or legal guardian residing in Livingston may register a new student for LPS. Proof of residency requirements and other special circumstances may be found on the website hyperlinked here.
For the kindergarten pre-registration process, if completed by May 15, 2021, parents will be notified of their child's school placement by June 1, 2021. In order to complete and finalize a child's kindergarten registration, all information and documents must be uploaded to the kindergarten pre-registration account.
Parents or guardians will be able to create a pre-registration user account in order to upload these documents as they become available. However, the child's birth certificate, proof of address and parent/guardian photo identification must be uploaded in order to schedule an appointment and create a kindergarten pre-registration account.
All required documents must be uploaded and the kindergarten pre-registration confirmation page should be printed before the applicant logs out.
Remote appointments can only be made upon completion of all required documents. Incomplete and missing forms may delay finalizing the child’s kindergarten pre-registration.
Prior to beginning the online pre-registration process, parents and guardians should have all necessary documentation, as listed below, ready to be uploaded:
COMPLETED DOCUMENTS TO UPLOAD:
- Original Birth Certificate
- Health Services Information/Medical Packet
- Proof of Residency
- Parent/Guardian Photo ID
- Landlord Affidavit Form (if applicable)
- Records Request Form (for students entering grades 1-12)
- Recent Report Card/School Transcript
- Transfer Card (if transferring from another district within New Jersey - Grades 1-12)
- Custody Papers (if applicable)
- Copy of student's IEP (if applicable)
