LIVINGSTON, NJ — Although Livingston Board of Education (LBOE) meetings are currently being held virtually due to the health crisis, the public is still invited and encouraged to provide input on the 2020-2021 budget either prior or during Tuesday’s budget forum at 7 p.m.

Registration is required for Tuesday’s LBOE budget forum, which will be held in a webinar format. Participants will be able ask questions and make comments during the meeting and can also send questions/comments to budgetquestions@livingston.org along with their name and address prior to the meeting.

Participants should note that the board will not be communicating through the live-stream comments on Facebook.

After approving the tentative 2020-2021 school budget in March and submitting it to the New Jersey Department of Education (NJDOE), the LBOE announced last week that the NJDOE has approved and returned the drafted budget with no changes. During last week’s meeting, Superintendent Dr. Matthew Block assured residents that the district is “considering ways to defer less critical budget items or to fund them in alternative ways to reduce the total tax increase.”
