LIVINGSTON, NJ — Thanks to Leap Year, Livingston residents have an extra day this month to let their voices be heard by completing Livingston Vision 20/20 Committee's Engineering and Public Works Survey.
In order to reach the maximum number of people from the Livingston community, Livingston Vision 20/20 has opted to post a new mini-survey survey every month rather than distributing its traditional community survey in hopes that this will encourage residents to take between two and four minutes each month to voice their opinions on crucial matters.
This month’s survey, focusing on subjects such as capital funding, parks and playgrounds, township building maintenance and other topics related to engineering and public works, ends of Feb. 29.
“When you participate in these mini-surveys, your responses can help us create a better community for all,” the committee states about this new system for collecting feedback. “If you've ever wanted to let the town know what you think, this is your chance.”
The volunteer Livingston Vision 20/20 Committee has been conducting a community survey every four years since 2003.
According to the committee, past survey results have led to improvements such as the introduction of the Livingston Express Shuttle and construction of the skate park. This year, the short survey format will allow for quick, topic-focused community feedback throughout the year. Each month, a different brief set of questions specific to one area will be posted online at www.livingstonnj.org.
The 2019 Community Assessment Survey, a series of brief surveys that officially launched earlier this month, will provide an opportunity for anyone who lives or works in Livingston to share feedback about their experiences, priorities and interests with the Vision 20/20 Committee.
“By spending just 2-4 minutes each month, respondents can let their voices be heard on each of the monthly survey topics,” the committee states. “Each month, the link to a new mini-survey will be available on the home page of the township website.”
The Vision 20/20 Survey will be accessible via personal computer or using a smartphone or other smart device. Those who do not have access to a computer but would like to take the surveys online can do so at the Livingston Public Library, located at 10 Robert Harp Drive, or the Livingston Senior and Community Center, located at 204 Hillside Avenue.
A limited number of hard copies of each month’s survey will also be available at these locations as well as Livingston Town Hall through the Clerk’s Office window.
Members of the Livingston Vision 20/20 Committee will be conducting presentations to organizations and groups throughout the town to increase awareness of the survey and answer any questions. Any group that would like to be included can contact Vision 20/20 Committee Co-Chair Alan Karpas at 973-992-6411 or email@example.com.
