LIVINGSTON, NJ — The county will host a meeting in Livingston on Jan. 11 at town hall to discuss ideas and answer questions regarding the upcoming renovation of Riker Hill Art Park.

Essex County Riker Hill Art Park is a 42-acre complex that was once housed army facilities and is now the home of 38 artist studios. Since it is owned by the county, the county has been working hand-in-hand with Livingston to refurbish the property.

On Monday, Livingston Mayor Shawn Klein and members of the township council endorsed current Essex County Executive Joseph DiVincenzo, Jr., for reelection and expressed their confidence that he will continue to work with the township to complete this project.

“[DiVincenzo] has done an incredible job for the county and his team has always been eager to help Livingston in all its interactions with the county,” said Klein. “They’ve done a great job for us and we look forward to working with them on the upcoming refurbishment of Riker Hill.”

Klein assured residents that the discussion on Jan. 11 will revolve around natural use of the land, rather than any restaurants or other facilities that might cause noise in the area at night. He encouraged residents to come out and join in the discussion.
