LIVINGSTON, NJ - Altruism has actually been linked with reducing stress.
There are lots of ways to help others--whether it is volunteering, collecting canned goods or making a donation to a charity.
Helping others may have a positive effect on your overall health and wellness, which is in line with the mission of the new CardioYoga studio in Livingston. In addition to offering classes focused on improving your physical strength, your balance and your stability, monthly meditation classes and on-site massage therapy, there is a philanthropic component to the studio.
In October, CardioYoga offered free donation based classes to support Comfort Project 360, a group within Saint Barnabas Medical Center that enriches patient comfort and well-being while undergoing cancer treatment at the hospital. In addition, owner Chelsea Alban donated a free party at CardioYoga to be raffled off at Comfort Project 360’s premier event, A Reason to Rock, which took place on Wednesday.
