LIVINGSTON, NJ — There was only one new case of COVID-19 reported in Livingston as of Tuesday morning and five additional deaths, bringing the township's total to 409 cases and 58 deaths attributed to the coronavirus, according to Essex County reports.
Out of those 409 cases, 223 of them (or 54.5 percent) have been from the five long-term care facilities located within the township.
Essex County has a total of 14,891 coronavirus cases as of Tuesday morning, with 97 new cases reported since 5 p.m. on Monday. There have been 15,675 tests that have come back negative in the county, which means there now have been more negative tests than positive tests in the county since testing for the virus began in March. There have been 1,324 deaths attributed to COVID-19 in Essex County.
Statewide, there is a total of 130,593 cases, an increase of 2,324 overnight, with 8,244 deaths reported, an increase of 334 since Monday, according to the State Department of Health. Statewide there have been 157,030 negative test results.
