LIVINGSTON, NJ - The Metropolitan YMCA of the Oranges is partnering with RWJBarnabas Health and Saint Barnabas Medical Center to help local municipal workers live a more healthy life.
The Y is offering free memberships to participants in the Livingston Wellness Challenge, a 12-week program that gives town employees access to realistic and accurate nutrition and exercise information.
The challenge provides motivation and support for people looking to make healthy lifestyle changes. Only about one in five adults and teens get enough exercise to maintain good health, according to the American Heart Association. The YMCA can assist people of all ages who are looking to improve their well-being, through the use of fitness equipment, group classes, personal training programs, and more.
The Livingston Wellness Challenge started with the Livingston Police Department and has grown to include staff from the public library and Mayor’s Office. All workers are welcome to participate.
