WEST ORANGE, NJ — Livingston Fire Chief Christopher Mullin and Assistant Chief Kevin Francione recently attended a New Jersey Career Fire Chief's Association Leadership Conference at the Wilshire Grand Hotel in West Orange.

Also in attendance were retired Deputy Chief James Smith of the Philadelphia Fire Department and retired Fire Chief Dennis Rubin of the Washington D.C. and Atlanta Fire Departments, who each presented lectures on fire service leadership topics such as management styles, organizational image, developing subordinates and supervision.

"Both Chiefs Rubin and Smith bring two long-standing careers in the Fire Service to the Leaders of New Jersey's Fire Service at the Chief Officer level,” said Mullin, a fellow association member. “Although these Chiefs ran in big city departments, the information they presented is applicable to any Fire Department throughout the New Jersey Fire Service."
