LIVINGSTON, NJ — Police are investigating the theft of a vehicle that was stolen from the driveway of a residence on West Drive in Livingston sometime between Saturday night and Sunday morning.

The owner of the vehicle, a black Ford Edge, alerted police after realizing it was missing late Sunday morning. A wallet and its contents, including various credit cards and some cash, were taken along with the vehicle.

Investigation also revealed that the suspect(s) drove up onto the lawn in order to get around another car that was parked in the driveway at the time, causing damage to some shrubbery.

Overnight break ins and vehicle thefts have also been reported in surrounding towns, including Roseland and West Orange. Livingston police stated that no other vehicle break ins have been reported in town, but continue to urge residents to lock their cars and to remove key fobs and other personal belongings.

This investigation is active and ongoing, according to police.
