LIVINGSTON, NJ — The Social Action Committee (SAC) at Temple B'nai Abraham (TBA) in Livingston, recently sponsored a collection of "Christmas Bags of Cheer," collecting more than 250 bags that have been donated to Livingston Neighbors Helping Neighbors (LNHN) to be distributed to St. Ann's, St. Michael's and St. John's Churches in Newark.

After decorating brown bags with special holiday messages and decorations, TBA congregants filled their bags with much-needed new socks as well as a packet of hot chocolate, a candy cane, prepackaged, snack-size cookies and a piece of fruit.

In addition to the "Bags of Cheer," a donation of about 500 stuffed animals from Pet Smart and TBA were distributed to a few churches in Newark, including St. Michael's and St. Rocco's, thanks to a collection coordinated by Ken and Nancy Bernstein and help from members of LNHN who delivered the furry friends just in time for Christmas.
