NORTH CALDWELL, NJ -- The Livingston baseball team secured its first victory of the season, 4-2, over West Essex on Monday.

Winning pitcher MJ DePaola and Chris Senney, who earned the save, did not allow an earned run. DePaola (1-1) struck out 10 batters in six innings, gave up six hits and walked two. Senney came in to protect a 4-1 lead in the bottom of the seventh. West Essex scored a run, but Senney struck out three batters in the inning.

Evan Kamikow went 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI for the Lancers (1-2). Senney, who startd the game at third base, also doubled in one of his three at-bats.

Liam James was 2-for-3 with one RBI and Tyler Sorrentino picked up two hits in three at-bats for West Essex (1-3). Henry Sanok pitched three hitless innings for the Knights with no walks or strikeouts.
