BAYONNE, NJ -- Bayonne scored on a 25-yard run in the second overtime to clinch a 27-21 victory over the Livingston football team Friday night in Hudson County.
The Lancers (0-2) led, 14-7, after three quarters. Bayonne tied it with a fourth-quarter TD and, after the teams exchanged TDs and extra points in the first overtime period, the home team broke the tie in overtime No. 2
Brian Russo rushed for 102 yards and a touchdown on 20 carries for Livingston. Luke Nardone caught four passes for 66 yards and a TD.
Lancer cornerbacks Anthony Barbella and Connor Wood each came up with an interception. David Cotugno shined in a relief role at quarterback for Livingston, completing 9 of 11 passes for 73 yards and a TD and rushing for 32 yards.
Mike Lillo and Barbella each were in on nine tackles for the Livingston defense. Nardone had a hand on eight tackles.
