LIVINGSTON, NJ -- The Livingston girls basketball team shut Cedar Grove out in the first quarter and went on to a 34-22 victory on Tuesday.

Aliza Gelman scored 14 points for the Lancers (11-3), who led, 9-0, after quarter on their way to a 20-2 halftime lead.

Ava Intile and Soliyana Asfaw each had five points and everybody contributed to the strong defensive effort for Livingston. The game marked the eighth time this season that Livingston has held an opponent to fewer than 30 points.
