LIVINGSTON, NJ -- The Livingston girls soccer team got an early start to its playoff run with a 7-0 victory over Union City in the first round of the Section 1, Group 4 state tournament Saturday morning.

Teams must complete their first-round games by Monday, but the Lancers scheduled their state tourney opener for the weekend and now have more time to prepare for the quarterfinals, which will take place on Thursday.

Lauren Belcuore scored three goals and Kelly Lyons, Emma Rosenberg, Kayla Parsons and Jadyn Liebman scored one goal apiece for Livingston (14-2-2), which outshot Union City, 36-1.
