LIVINGSTON, NJ -- The Livingston 11U baseball team will open play in the state tournament Saturday at the Livingston Little League Complex at 109 Meadowbrook Road.

The Lancers reached the tournament by winning the District 8 and Section 2 tournaments earlier in the month. Livingston is hosting the 11U state tournament, which involved four teams from around the state.

Livingston will play Madison at 9 a.m. Saturday, with Brick Township facing Millville at 11:30 a.m. The games were originally scheduled for the afternoon, but were moved up to the morning due to the forecast for temperatures in the high 90s.

There will be two games Sunday. The tournament is a double-elimination format.

The Lancers completed a 3-0 sweep to win the Section 2 Championship beating Hoboken 5-1 in Fort Lee on Monday night.
