LIVINGSTON, NJ — The fall 2018 Livingston High School varsity girls tennis team finished with a 16-4 record, 4-1 in the Super Essex Conference (American Division), coming in second place behind undefeated state champion Millburn.
Livingston’s 3-2 upset victory over Newark Academy earned the team the second-place position. Newark Academy had beaten Livingston, 4-1, in the Essex County Tournament semifinals. Millburn defeated Newark Academy in the county final.
Livingston was a finalist in the North I, Group 4 Sectional Tournament, where top-seeded Ridgewood defeated the second-seeded Lancers 3-2 for the sectional championship.
Emma Conforti and Brielle Schwartz both were named to the American Division First Team by SEC coaches. Emily Sze, Alicia Li and Selena Zhu were named to the division's second team. Nicole Bazhenov and Komal Misra received honorable mention.
Livingston won 75 percent of all its sets played this season.
