Wynnewood, Lower Merion Township, PA — Police responded on May 6 at 7:16 PM to a report of fraud that had occurred in the Unit block of Meredith Road in Wynnewood. The victim reported paying for four 76er’s tickets that were never delivered.
According to the Police, the victim made a deal to purchase four tickets for $200 each on Craigslist.org The agreement was made and finalized on May 5. At the time of the purchase, the seller required that the buyer use Apple Pay to make a down payment of half of the money.
The seller reported that a QR code would be supplied to the buyer once the sale had been finalized and the second half of the money was paid.
The buyer again used Apple Pay and paid the money but never received the tickets.
Apple Pay is a mobile payment and digital wallet service provided by Apple Inc., that allows users to make payments on a mobile device or on the web.
The police are investigating the incident.
