Ardmore, Haverford Township. PA —  Construction on two Ardmore Avenue Bridges is going to start on Monday, March 25.  The bridges will remain open for this first stage of construction which runs through Friday, April 5.
"Traffic will be reduced to one lane from 9 AM to 3 PM on weekdays and flaggers will be working from Haverford Avenue up to Golf House Road," stated Penndot officials.  Drivers are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work area because backups and delays will occur.
This is the preliminary phase of the project where workers will be removing trees, limbs, and branches which will allow crews to come in afterward to relocate aerial utility lines.

After the aerial utility line relocation work has been completed in late spring, Ardmore Avenue will be closed for construction between Darby Road and Haverford Road. During the closure, Ardmore Avenue motorists will be detoured over Haverford Road, College Avenue, and Darby Road. Local access will be maintained up to the construction zone.
Construction on this project is expected to finish in the spring of 2020.
