Wynnewood, Lower Merion Township, PA -  Police responded to a report of a gunpoint carjacking that failed at approximately 10:35 AM yesterday at the Whole Foods Market located at 15 E. Wynnewood Road.  

Two men, one armed with a handgun approached a woman and demanded her keys.

The female victim reported to police that two males came out of nowhere and demanded her car and keys.  At gunpoint one of the men reiterated that “we want the keys!”

The woman refused to give up her keys, and the suspects fled.  They were last seen in an SUV heading West on Lancaster Avenue. They got nothing from the victim who was not hurt.

“The two men were wearing masks over the lower portion of their faces,” stated LMPD Det-Sgt Michael Vice.  One of the would-be carjackers was described as a light-skinned black male.

Detectives are back at the scene today reviewing the store's video surveillance system.  The investigators will also look at videos from other businesses nearby.

“We are making progress in the case,” stated Vice who is a 23-year member of the LMPD.
