Pottstown, Montgomery County, PA — Police were dispatched to 162 N. Charlotte St. in Pottstown today for a reported disturbance in the alley.  Three Pottstown PD Officers arrived and while investigating heard a single gunshot from inside apartment number three at that location.

Darryl "Omar” McMillian, age 36, was arrested and charged with first-degree murder and related offenses.  

McMillan allegedly answered the door department number three shortly after police heard the gunshot. Police upon entering the apartment found bathroom door had been barricaded, apparently to keep someone out. James Madison, age 41 was found on the bathroom floor suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.

McMillan was transported by ambulance to the Pottstown Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Please also allege that they recovered 62 bags of suspected crack cocaine and a 45 caliber semiautomatic pistol which had been reported stolen to the New Hanover Township Police Department on December 12, 2018.

McMillan charged with first-degree murder, and related offenses is in the process of being arraigned.   Bail is not an option for first-degree murder charges.
